    Prayers Please

I've had an abdominal aortic aneurysm for over 5 years. It was stable for 3. Then it grew. Fast. In 6 months. I had an abdominal CT scan yesterday. "Too big." And I agree.

So Wednesday I will be admitted to the Heart Hospital at Austin (one of the top 5 in this country) for a stent procedure. If all goes well I'll be home the next day. If not, well at the HHA the procedure is done in the OR with a surgical team right there, just in case. These folks are the best. I trust them.

But I also trust in my Higher Power. God. My MIL has already activated her prayer circle and that's powerful stuff. But every little bit helps.

    Thanks.

You'll definitely be in my prayers. Best wishes for a quick recovery.

                Paul

I have the same thing. It was found 2 years ago during an MRI of my back. I have it checked every 6 month and so far so good. It is at 4.7cm or mm can't remember but I 5.0 they do somthing. I am going in on July 2 for the next sonogram. The Chief Vascular Surgeon at my Kaiser Facility is in charge now and he took the time to answer all my and LOML question so I live as normal a life as possible. I only gave up one thing worrying about it.

I will light a candle at church for you Sunday and you will be in our thoughts and prayers. I truly expect to see you posting Thursday or Friday. Take care and God Bless

                Tom

Will be praying for you, too, Paul.

My husband had surgery on an aortic aneurysm last year and they had to put a stent in as well. I waited calmly until the doctor came out smiling to let me know that everything turned out great. As soon as he left, I started crying. It was just a relief. It's a pretty standard procedure and they do a lot of it, but still. So my thoughts will be with your wife and family, too.

(Of course the man was obviously doing well because he almost made the nurses cry in the recovery room. His orneriness really shone. What is it about doctors being such difficult patients? )

                        Prayers going your way

Know what you feel. I had four stents back in 06. That was 5 years after having 5 bypasses. You'll feel a lot better once they are in. Anyway, the prayers are for you.
