Can't tell how many red straws I've lost, or hunted for. Well, WD 40 finally has aggregated its fecal matter and came out with Smart Straw. What a relief!

Now what am I going to do with those 143 red

straws that I was able to save?? I am serious; after losing the straws a long time ago, I thought well I'll just save any after the cans were empty. Oh well, maybe I can build something out of 'em

These have actually been available for several years, I do have a can and while it is kinda handy, I'm not particularly impressed for some reason.

I've seen these and keep planning on picking up a couple dozen or so. I use a fair amount of carb cleaner and other aerosols with straws and this seems like a good solution for all those cans you have sitting around.

You know if you lost the straw the main feature of the WD40 was lost and you had to buy another--some marketing guy got a BIG bonus for that idea.

Not sure exactly why they decided making the straw attached was a good thing. Unless it would justify jacking up the price to make more money.

I picked up a twin pack of the 'new' WD-40 cans a while back at Sam's but haven't used them, yet.

I have tried the 'Hold-It' bands. They work ok, but will slip off the can and can get gummy with some chemicals.

I can't come up with a good photo of this but Dupont's Teflon lubricant has a cap with a protruding set of nubs that capture the straw. Pretty effective. The downside is that the can recommends that you blow out the straw after use to prevent build-up. Kind of lemony-tart.
