    New toy, Brother P-touch Labeler

I just got a new P-touch labeler, sure I had one from a few years back.
I was looking at them on Amazon and found this new one, PT2700 that fixed almost all the (few) issues I had with the old one.

    "Product Description
The PT-2700 offeres connectivity, versatility and reliability. The PT-2700 can also be used as a standalone labeler as well as easily connect to your PC via USB interface. The featured packed model has a 16 character, 3 line LCD with a bright back-light display for easy viewing. The PT-2700 can display and automatically add the time & date to labels. Print up to 7 lines, 8 font sizes and 9 font styles. You also have the option of selecting from over 100 symbols available and 19 frame styles to your labels. The PT-2700 allows you to store up to 99 files to memory for easy preinting and re-printing. Store up to 99 files for Memory Print Various Name Badge formats Special new angled key tops for easy entry Built-in automatic cutter Desktop & Computer operation 8 fonts, 9 type styles Prints up to 1 inch wide laminated tapes for indoor or outdoor use 19 frame styles and up to 100 symbols Dimensions - Width 7.06 x Depth 9.75 x Height 2.82 inch Weight - 1.87 pounds "

Lots of fonts and sizes, uses up to 1" tape for 7-line labels.
Has a preview mode on the LCD and also has USB port and editing software for PCs so you can do graphics.
it automatically cuts both both ends of the label, so the blank space is even, and splits the backing so its easy to peel off. Wastes about 3/4 inch tape between labels now, much more efficient than my old one which seemed to waste about 2 inches per label. Display tells you exactly how long your label will be, in inches, and can save up to 99 labels in internal files.

I didn't really need it but I got one anyway - a bit bigger but uses the same tapes as my old one and has a better keyboard.
All the amazon reviews were great, and I caught it for $39.95 (thru www.JandR.com) but the price has gone back up (so no bargain alert).

No, that would be if Rod got a labeler. But I'd bet he already has one.

I bought one of these 10 years ago and loved it. Unfortunately, they never updated the software for my version, so now all I get to do is use the keyboard. Leaves off a lot of functions.

          For $39.95 I'd get a new one.

I TRIED labeling the cats, but they kept tearing the labels off! But I did label all the drawers in the shop. NOW I know where everything is!

              How about: #8 screw, 1 of 27... #8 screw, 2 of 27... #8 screw, 3 of 27... etc.?

I might consider it worthwhile if an interface was compatible with Service Pack 2.
