    Chrysler

I have bought from them for years, and I like the product. LOML and I read the posting

about guranteed gas price at $2.99 a gallon for 3 years. We both have 2001 models and

were going to get a new one before She retires. She has 4 years to go, and I think a T&C

is coming soon to Our house for Me. Bill

I hadn't heard about the $2.99/ gal gas. Is that some kind of promo? How does it work? Wait a minute... how does that Google thing work, again? Oh yea, I tried here and this is a little of what it says.

"Under Chrysler's plan, the guaranteed price covers an annual allotment of gallons based on 12,000 miles divided by the average mileage per gallon of the purchased vehicle.
At $2.99 a gallon, drivers of the two-wheel-drive Dodge Ram 1500 pickup, which gets a combined 16 miles per gallon, according to U.S. Environmental Protection Agency estimates, could see a savings of $465 over 12,000 miles, based on today's average cost of gasoline in Detroit.
As the price of gasoline increases, so do the savings".

Kind of a cool idea. They think it will be cheaper than rebates. I hope it works since their overall US sales are down 18% from last year; trucks down 23% and vans down 37% so far in 2008. I just finished a van lease and I was surprised at the quality of the vehicle. I hadn't had a Chrysler product in years.
    Blessings,
    Chiz

I had heard it only covered large pickups and SUVs — the gas-hogs they haven't been able to sell lately.

Maybe Chrysler is betting a drop in the cost of gasoline over the next few years. We can always hope!

okay, go buy a Ram 1500 truck and get the gas card that has a limit of 2400 gallons on it. Now park it in the driveway and use it only as needed, meanwhile Use the card to fill up your neighbor's and your econo cars for the years (you get 800 gallons at 2.99 each year, for three years, but they expire each year so you have to use them up).

I bet you can stretch that card a lot further than 36000 miles that they are offering you.

I didn't see anything that said you can only use the card for the Chrysler vehicle.

Heck, if you can find a sap, Buy the truck, get the card and sell the turck to the sap for retail and keep the card.

First I heard about that. It probably won't be long until others start offering it also.

I am trying to convince my wife to replace our van with a Chrysler next year, but she is stuck on a Honda or Toyota. I told her we can probably get it cheaper because Chrysler will be a more motivated seller. She still wants to pay the premium.
