That's funny cause I have a buddy that works in a large laser/waterjet shop and they routinely get drawings where someone changed a dimension without changing the part. So they do MIL-TFD-41c all the time, but then the customer still says "no good."

Well, I never 'worked' for the government so I didn't have to learn how to speak acronym.

My cousin, Keith, was a drafter back in the day when they were called draftsmen and they actually used pen and ink.

He often used the acronym, somewhere on the drawing, HTF-GTS.

of the warning labels on tools can be traced back to things I've done...

obviously the FNG needs a bucket of K9P and to RTFM in order to understand MIL-TFP-41 otherwise he is NFG and his head is MT.

I like the HTF-GTS but we add PTM: making HTF-GTS-PTM.

Good one Loring, I've heard it a time or two. Things I have put in case notes on problem tickets:

                    This is a SNAFU.

                    Something here is FUBAR'd.

More than once I've root caused something in the offical case notes to PIBKAC.

PIBKAC - that's a new acronym for me, too, but I know surely know the symptoms. That's why we start these threads, to expand our knowledge, I shall be looking for an opportunity to apply this new useful knowledge.

The automotive reference is that there is a loose screw between the seat and the steering wheel.
