    New feature in google maps??

Not sure if this is a new feature or one I just haven't seen before but in google maps when search for some (doesn't seem to work with all) addresses it puts the map of the location and beside it a little photo of the actual location. If you click on the photo it places a pic as if you were standing in the middle of the street where the address is located and are able to pan around. Kinda cool

I tried my house but didn't work. Here's an address that worked for sure.

yes, they started this some time last year.
Theres a button called street view. If you turn it on, then streets lined in blue will have street level views that you can see and rotate 360 degrees to see what an intersection looks like, for example or a store front may look like.

Limited resolution and limited primarily to downtown areas in large metropolitan locations. try New York City on 7th Ave. at Broadway (times square) for example and try it:

click on the little man and then try rotating thje resulting view (click and drag with mouse)

Views of Washington DC would be intersting but I think they are wrestling with terrorism concerns or they just haven't mapped Washington, Yet.

Here in Minneapolis Google Maps has a feature that allows you to drive down your street. Just look for 'street view'.

Unfortunately, for my wife, the vehicle that took the pictures passed our house while she was bending over planting flowers. LOML was NOT amused.

This feature works in San Francisco, also. We can view our daughters' neighborhood.

You might think I haven't contributed much to the world, but a large number
of the warning labels on tools can be traced back to things I've done...

Yah that's the feature I was talking about. Never really noticed it before. Those google people sure are imaginative.
