I just found out a short while ago that Atlanta got hit by a tornado yesterday. Some of the damage was shown on TV. One dead, and several injured. I hope none of our members were affected much by it.
The main tornadoe was Friday night in down-town.. tore a path through the CNN Center.. Phillips Arena and that area. The SEC basket-ball tournament was taking place inside the building. Amazing only 12 people injured with sheet metal twisted around poles.. cars over-turned.. all glass windows blown out.. etc.
Then we got round two yesterday as more tornadoes and tons of lightening strikes where I believe two were killed. This was in north-west Georgia south of Chattanooga and north-west of Atlanta. The entire area north of town got hit with as intense of lightening strikes as I've ever seen (and I lived in Lightening Alley down around Tampa in the 70"s).
The main metro area escaped round two with the exception of the northern metro counties. I got lucky as an intense storm was heading my way and it split and went north and south of me leaving me sunshine. Go figure....
