I was planning on posting here with a printer problem. The paper wouldn't feed properly and I kept getting a jammed paper message. Tried looking around the rollers and stuff but couldn't see anything. So I thought of helping the paper through as it fed. Crunch, crunch, thump, bang......and out pops the pinkie ring that my teenager was looking for a few days ago. Printer is fine now. Phew!

That's funny. It reminds of a problem I had once. I had a Dell inkjet printer, and the paper kept getting pulled to one side. It was under warranty so I called Dell hoping to get it fixed/replaced under warranty.
Of course, I am a Dell certified tech, with YEARS of experience (but not on the inkjets, so I couldn't process a claim myself). I was convinced a roller gear was shot, but I had to jump through the level one hoops--turn the printer one and off, disconnect it from the PC, reinstall drivers, etc.
Of course I am frustrated (I am smarter than the person on the phone, of course). The final step was to turn the printer over and shake it to dislodge any foreign material. "Yes, I did that" (wink, wink) I said to the person on the phone ("Jim" from India, I believe). "No, nothing in the printer, Jim" So, they send me out a new one.
I get the new one, and when I swap it out, a pen drops out from the infeed side

. Ooops, shows how smart I am...
