So I'm setting up my first PVR. Gutting my older comp and using a newer case. I think the Mobo failed on the old one. Plus newer case is portable and looks cooler
. Currently I have the Satellite receiver hooked up via s-video to a set top DVD player/burner then a componet cable to the TV (no component-in on the DVD burner).
My original plan (or rather one I read on the net) to setup the PVR was to use a splitter from the receiver with one signal going to the PVR and one going to the DVD player. This will all be done using coax
My question is since I currently use an s-video connection will I lose much picture quality going to coaxial.
Also as I understand it, component offers the best quality followed by s-video, composite, then coaxial. One thing I still don't understand though is if the connection coming into your house is coaxial how does using a better cable say component, enhance the picture (I know it does, I'm just not sure how it works
)
