Any ideas on where a fella could blow $600 on a muzzle for a mid 30's female spouse, to be applied on Sat. and Sun. mornings whereupon sawdust needs makin? I searched the jigs section to no avail....

That there is probable cause for a charge of spousal abuse...or intention to...

but again, if you do find or invent one, it might be your ticket for some sort of a noble prize... just from many spouses...and i might send in my tax-rebate towards that...

There was a letter in our local newspaper that suggested spending the money on local services. Rather than buying foreign manufactured goods go out to restaurants, hire somebody to do some work for pay someone who lives in your town to do something.

The idea is that you put money into your local economy rather than sending it overseas.

Just so nobody gets the wrong idea, I was totally kidding. In fact SWMBO loves my new hobby, especially after the rocking boat I made as my first project for our 2 yr old. She even let me buy my first REAL table saw, the Craftsman 21829. (Thanks to all the advice on this forum).

In actuality, we just found out we have our second child on the way, so part of that refund will be going toward building a new crib!

The other part will probably go toward replacing some of the parts for a jewelry box I'm still building my wife for Christmas . I got a little over my head and made some bad cuts, but that's a different story for a different topic...

We are going to invest Ours into travel to that great State of South Carolina. We will be taking Our 4 GrandDaughters, probably the 2nd week of June. Bill

Get used to this happening to you. Every time we try something new we're getting in 'over our heads'. That's how we lear new skills. I fretted and asked question so much before making my first raised panel door that I'm sure some people were getting a bit tired of me whining about it. Fortunately, I pitched my tent in this great group of woodworkers. Hopefully, you have too.
                      Blessings,

Yes I have, and thanks so much for the encouraging words. I think it's fair to say I've caught the wood "bug", as it's -30 here in Chicago with wind chill, and I still worked out in my unheated garage until all my cordless tools froze up!

                        Thanks again!

                            Ed,

I think I will use it to pay part of my Lake County property tax. That is if they ever decide on just how much it is.

This is not a rebate or refund, nor is it free money. It is a credit on the taxes you will file in 2009. Next year you will get back less of a refund because of the advance you are getting this year. So I will USE mine wisely by reducing the overall debt I owe now.

I don't get one, but I'm hoping I'll be able to convince my parents to put some of it to a new drumset.... but I"m thinking my mom is still pretty dead set against that.
