Hopefully Sam will chime in with a status. I'll dig a bit deeper if needed.

Add me to the list. This place is too important to go away.

Thought about starting this thread several times over the past few days.

Time for a few more to ante up before we all start looking for another place to hang out. With the number of active members we have this shouldn't have been a problem. In fact, it should have been a race to see who could get their money in the tally before the goal was surpassed.

We have not stalled. The contributions keep pouring in. I have not done the math but I think we may have reached our goal. Sam has just not updated the thermometer or recent contributions.

Also there may be others like myself that renew sometime later. My paid subscription expires in March. I'll renew mine when it gets close. I'm sure we will exceed the goal.

Mine is due at the end of December, paid mine back then.

Question: People who pay during different times in the year, are they included in the Fund Drive?? I have always ASSUMED (and we all know what happens when you do that ) that it was included.

I sent my second $50 a week or so ago.. and the $2900 was there when I did it. It has been recieved as I got a PM from Sam today as he finally had a day off to catch up some of the matters on the site. I believe the goal is met, but just not posted?

Keep in mind he does this in spare time and this is not what puts food on the table. Priorities are priorities.. and patience is a virtue!

                      Regards to all...

As noted in another thread, I sent my paltry check in two weeks ago. Must be like my very limited football career...on the bottom of the pile.

Our fearless leader is down and out with a pretty severe case of the flu right now. Hopefully when he's back up and "at it"... he'll be able to update us on the status!

                            1. No. My updating of the thermometer has stalled because the spreadsheet of contributors is on my PC at work and I'm stuck at home with Influenza A. I will go ahead and move it to $3500.00 but I am pretty sure we are beyond that.

                            2. I hope not!

Paypal contributions are "automatic" meaning the forum software automatically grants the appropriate Patron status for the appropriate length of time once the Paypal transaction is complete. Checks and money orders rely on me to manually activate the Patron status. I record every check received but sometimes forget to go in and mark the Patron status. If anyone falls into this category, simply e-mail me your forum name, "real" name, and check amount and I'll double check my records and get you fixed up.

Generally speaking, once the Fund Drive hits the goal, I stop updating the thermometer. In past years I removed it from the header all together, but last year I left it up year round at the urging of several forum members. I think it can be confusing, so I might go back to removing it once our goal is reached.

I replied to you in that other thread...

...and Mark has sent you an e-mail regarding it and I am awaiting an e-mail from you. All I need is your "real name" so I can match it with a check. A lot of checks came simply in an envelope with no indication of a forum name so I have no way to match them up. Again, I am at home sick and my list is at work. I expect to make it into the office at 3:00 today and will retreive the spreadsheet then and bring it home tonight.
