    Getting Geared Up.

It is about that time again, finally at last the Daytona 500 is drawing closer. I am looking forward to being in front of the television for The Duels and all the other race coverage until Sunday. Around our house Nascar is bigger than football.

Who all is looking forward the big race?

I'll probably be in the infield. My hearing won't be right for a month, though. Hate that.

I'm looking forward to the race. Got a meeting tonight, we run a fund raiser for the Cancer Society during the race.

I look forward to most of the races. Don't plan my weekend around them or anything (well maybe a couple ). I like to watch the race on TV in front of my computer. Can pull up the current stats of whoever, hear radio communication, etc.

      Go Jimmie!!!!

I'll probably watch some of it. I heard it's only the last lap that counts. I keep waiting for right turns (that would be something).

I'm looking forward to another season of Formula 1. The roundy round racing doesn't do much for me.

I've tried to watch racing - even went to a a couple races in Charlotte a while back. I can think of better excuses to sit for 3 hrs and drink beer. On TV, I can look at a race and see cars going round and round. In an hour, I see the same thing. I don't watch soccer for the same reason.

My prefered motor sport is Drag Racing. 1320 feet of pure power display. When a pair of fuel cars line up, they have a combined 16,000 HP. When the drivers hit the throttles, the ground shakes 1/8 mile away! At night, add the sight of 6 foot flames from all 16 pipes.

Season kicks off this weekend with the Winternationals at Pomona Raceway.

I guess I am just a gear head. I like the straight-line stuff as well as the roundy round stuff and yes even the F1 racing as well, those cars are so technologically advanced it is amazing. But give me a street stock or a winged sprint car on dirt on Friday night and I am like a kid in a candy store.

What is this you are adopting a rookie? Ohh I get it you'll be rooting for Mr. Martin.

I can hardly wait to hear DW say "boggity, boggity, boggity, let's go racing boys!" Hopefully Michael will make a few more races.
