Prayers and Legal direction needed. Please Help...

I know there are lots of experts here from all different fields, and right now, I need one. Desperately. I usually come here and stroll around the site, but my visit this time is not for leisure.

I come seeking legal advice concerning my rights, as I have been accused of something. It makes me sick even trying to say it, much less type it out. I have spoken to my Pastor about it, and the police, and neither were of much real help. Actually, the police are small part of the problem. I have searched around online and I have not found much that will help me, so now I am here, and I know somebody on here can help me out. Even the littlest bit of help would be comforting.

But more than advice, I need your prayers. Prayers for me, and my wife and three kids, for this can affect all of us. Prayers that truth will prevail. Prayers for the accuser, that they will be forgiven by the good Lord. Please, we feel so helpless and lost.
Just think of something witty and pretend you saw it here.

Are you being accused of giving incomplete information? Maybe you could elaborate?

We are always happy to send a prayer your way.

Re' any sticky situation, you need 1) a good lawyer 2) a spiritual counsellor and 3) good friends. In that order. Just remember only #1 will give you objective advice, but you need to have numbers 2) and 3) on your side praying and rooting for you.

But I can't overemphasize the need for a good lawyer, who in my experience can keep little things from blowing up into big ones. Avoid the flashy guys or gals and go with grey hair and a good reputation. Just because someone charges a high fee doesn't make him better, but usually a low fee means you will get what you pay for.

Sorry to hear about your problems.

Before you do anything else RETAIN A LAWYER WHO IS EXPERIENCED WITH CASES AS YOUR'S..

Do not say anything to anyone without your lawyer present. Don't even post a word of your problems. no matter how unimportant it may seem to you.

Do not talk to your friends, relatives (except your wife and a recognized spiritual leader (be sure that the confidentially provision applies to this talk). As to your wife, the courts canout get her to testify against you. A licensed therapist falls into this provision too.

No matter what you might or might not be accused of, it's extremely important NOT to talk to anyone, but the above mentioned individuals about this or anything that may be related to the charge (I'm assuming you're being charged with a criminal offience.

And above all, STOP posting immediately about this incident. Talk about woodworking or the weather or anything of no conciquence at all.

                Best

If I can help explain anything that is happening to you, and what may be to come let me know. THings can be very confusing the first time you deal with us. PM me if I can help in any way.

Thank you all for your support. I already knew not to post any sort of details concerning the supposed incident. What I can say is that, of what little bit I have been told by the police(which is all I know about this), is that there are no charges filed. Thay also told me last Thursday that the case is closed because they know the accusations are false, and that the accuser is not a reliable source and what what I understand, accused someone else either at the same time or very recently, and has personality disorders and "episodes". Then yesterday I heard from my Pastor that they told him that it is still an "ongoing investigation". I am lost as to what my course of action is. Even if no charges are filed, am I entitled to know any details of the accusations? I think that I would be to some extent, but of everybody involved, I know the least. My pastor and family and friends have told me that to just wait for it to blow over. The police told me that it is nothing to worry about, but something like this, HOW am I supposed to not worry? I feel so much like a puppet, thinking that at any moment the strings will be cut, and the world as I know will collapse. But as for the accuser, I am working on forgiving that person (I have no idea who it is). And it has been a great struggle for me to keep my Faith and my senses, especially while trying to keep my household running smoothly and keep my studies on course. I hope that this will soon be over. Thank you so much for your prayers.

PD is not obliged to reveal to you the progress of their investigation, only that you have been charged with "X" counts of "Y" violation. If you have not been charged, there is not much you can do other than get a lawyer and bring him (or her) up to speed. If the course of the PD investigation becomes harassing or otherwise damaging to you in some way (worrying you doesn't count) then your lawyer can demand that they either charge you or leave you alone. Best thing you can do is go about your business for the time being, as going to pieces about being investigated will simply double PD's resolve that you've got something illicit to hide. Remember also that the State Attorney decides whether you will be charged for any serious crime, not the PD. PD only investigates and then turns over their findings to the DA. The DA will not bring charges without some confidence that you are guilty, and that he will be able to prove it. And being charged does not mean you are guilty, just that the DA feels that the evidence points that way. The burden of proof is on the DA, while the presumption of innocence protects you. Get a lawyer to explain these things to you in a relevant context. And try to stay calm.
