I'll play! No photo it doesn't exist, right? C'mon guys, spill some kB for the C.man!

EDIT: Besides being upside down and having enough glare to blind a bat that should be enough to come in third or sixth or something.

    Adding measurements: 1 7/16"w x 1 5/16"h x 3/8"t

Small tape measures are available on countertops, at places like Hardware stores and in my fathers case, he found his pocket tape, picking up things for mom (present) at a craft (I spell it with a p) store. My last small tape (wandered) was 3' long (won't qualify).

But what I really want to know, is were you trying to give our female members a laugh when you named this thread? I can picture the laughs, like the time I found on another site, a picture of a note someone left on a damaged printer. Handwritten, even spacing and said, pen is stuck in printer.
She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice.

I was ready to jump all over this one until I read what we were comparing. My wife said mine was small and I am still wondering how she knows...You knew this was going to pop up didn't you?

My dad used to carry this one, now it's mine. It does come in really handy when shopping. The retractable spring doesn't work as well as it used to. The hook is fixed. Barlow is stamped on the bottom. It goes well with my little 6" scale too.

It barely squeeks by with a 72-1/2" graduated length, half metric half imperial.
          Measuring 1-5/8"x1-5/8"x3/8" 0.97125 cubic inches.

              72" Tape

              1 5/8" x 1 1/2" x 1/2"

Update: Went and used my trust HF digital caliper and came up with

              1.59 x 1.50 x .5 = 1.1925 Cubic Inches

I win I win! uh-oh is that a good thing to have the smallest? I do have twins! Wait a minute rules say 6' min. I guess I did not win! Whew that was close!

The print at the bottom says "+1 5/16 IN / 33 mm" it is 3/8" thick, 1 3/8" high and 1 7/16" wide not counting the locking button that I'll gladly trim if needed.

I'd like to open up the eligibility to any length tape measure (can be shorter than 6'). After all, in a contest like this we can't really penalize a member for having a tiny one.

                    IMPORTANT NOTE:

For those of you who made picture submissions, you must include the dimensions of height and thickness along with the width that is shown with a ruler. The dimensions are necessary to determine cubic inches.

                    NOTES TO CERTAIN MEMBERS:

gerti: You need to include a picture with your dimensions.

footprintsinconc: You need to include picture with dimensions.

ironhat: You need to include the three (3) dimensions.

Salty: Need to submit height and width dimensions.
                    .

I have 2 candidates to answer original and updated contest rules:
                        Candidate A - 6ft tape length, square shaped 2"X2"X5/8";
Candidate B - 3ft tape length, round shape 1-3/8" diameter and 3/8" thick. It does have a little lip where tape comes in, with that lip the longest dimension becomes 1-1/2".
I am too lazy to get a camera, so if you want to see pictures - I will produce if I need to claim the prize.
Niether one has locking mechanism but that is not required, is it?

For those wanting to get in the contest, check post #24 for a change to the rule on minimum size. It's been changed to allow any length, even for ya-all with an ity-bity one.

Well I guess I'm happy that I don't have one that small. Use to have a small one YEARS ago when I was a young lad, but not anymore.
