Hiya
I posted elsewhere first but thought this looks like a good spot to say, "Hiya".
I found this site when searching for reviews of the Bosch 4100-09. I happened across Tom Hintz's post with a link to his review of the saw. I liked the forums, despite not planning on buying a BT3x ... heh. The folks here seem friendly and knowledgeable so I plan to stick around.
Hopefully I won't be too much trouble. I'm relatively new to woodworking. I inherited my father-in-law's accumulation of tools 8 years ago or so. He managed to make some beautiful stuff with a 1950s radial arm saw that had belonged to his father but it wasn't working well and when I tried to get parts for it I found it was recalled. I made do with a really low end circular saw I picked up a couple of years back and managed to make some shelves and such with that and the other basic tools I inherited.
I've wanted a table saw for years to allow me more accurate cuts. Now that I finally got one I'm excitedly learning how to use it. I'm shocked at how much faster I can make cuts now ... I knew it'd be faster but WOW. I've got plans to build some cabinets (just ordered Tom Clark's book) and eventually move up to higher end stuff, perhaps.
Anyhow, I've gotten longer winded than I intended, as I have a habit of doing, so I'll cut it off here for now. See y'all around.Nilt
If it's too tight, don't force it. Just get a bigger hammer.

Greetings, All.....
Hi,
I'm new to the forum. About 1 month ago I bought a 21829 - my first table saw. So far baby has a new Freud LU83 (what a difference - like cutting steak with a sharp knife instead of a spoon) and an alignment per the manual (do not believe Sears when the manual says "Your saw is set at the factory and should not need any alignment..." - the only thing in alignment was the fence to the blade). I'm also going to order baby a shark guard.
Happy woodworking!Kris Freyermuth

Greetings from Abilene, TX! Well, Ok, we really don't live in Abilene, we have a Hawley phone exchange, are in the Hawley school district, get Hawley water, and pay taxes for "rural Jones County", but we have an Abilene ZIP code!"Aspire to inspire before you expire."
