Hello
Hi,
I have been here for a few years since getting my BT3000 as a 25th anniversary gift. (What a gal!)
I enjoy the posts and happy that the forum is here.
Definitely has helped me with all kinds of things, from tool reviews to techniques.
Thanks to all the moderators that keep the decorum friendly and light.
Best wishes to all for a happy and healthy holiday season.
Tony

Hello all; Washington state resident with lots stuff. [STUFF COLLECTOR] Started doing construction work with my father for pay in 1959. Got my journeyman carpenter card in 1970, one year after my first contractors license. Have tried a hundred things since with the same results each time. I am always looking to learn something else. I will be 60 next May and think I might wear out before I learn as much as I would like. Lately I am noticing that I have forgotten more than I can remember. To date this is quite a site to visit. Thank you one and all.Leave a comment:

Hi all,
I just joined a day or so ago and wanted to say hi. I haven't posted anything yet b/c I don't seem to have anything intelligent to add. Perhaps I'll think of something!
I'm a weekend and sometimes evening woodworker, when I have time, so I'm in this for the fun. My day job has to do with software development in different types of products like sensors, aircraft engines, flight actuators, stuff like that.
Many many years ago I was into woodworking, but life got in the way and just in the last few years I've returned to it. I'm taking a sort of hybrid approach mixing galooting and electron burning. I'm in the process of rebuilding a workshop in my basement and going through the tool acquisition thing. It seems much more expensive now than when I was younger.
Anyway, I'm starting to babble! Glad to be here, see you around the coffee pot!

Greetings from Abilene, TX! Well, Ok, we really don't live in Abilene, we have a Hawley phone exchange, are in the Hawley school district, get Hawley water, and pay taxes for "rural Jones County", but we have an Abilene ZIP code!Leave a comment:

Greetings, All.....
Hi,
I'm new to the forum. About 1 month ago I bought a 21829 - my first table saw. So far baby has a new Freud LU83 (what a difference - like cutting steak with a sharp knife instead of a spoon) and an alignment per the manual (do not believe Sears when the manual says "Your saw is set at the factory and should not need any alignment..."
- the only thing in alignment was the fence to the blade). I'm also going to order baby a shark guard.
Happy woodworking!Leave a comment:

Hiya
I posted elsewhere first but thought this looks like a good spot to say, "Hiya".
I found this site when searching for reviews of the Bosch 4100-09. I happened across Tom Hintz's post with a link to his review of the saw. I liked the forums, despite not planning on buying a BT3x ... heh. The folks here seem friendly and knowledgeable so I plan to stick around.
Hopefully I won't be too much trouble. I'm relatively new to woodworking. I inherited my father-in-law's accumulation of tools 8 years ago or so. He managed to make some beautiful stuff with a 1950s radial arm saw that had belonged to his father but it wasn't working well and when I tried to get parts for it I found it was recalled. I made do with a really low end circular saw I picked up a couple of years back and managed to make some shelves and such with that and the other basic tools I inherited.
I've wanted a table saw for years to allow me more accurate cuts. Now that I finally got one I'm excitedly learning how to use it. I'm shocked at how much faster I can make cuts now ... I knew it'd be faster but WOW. I've got plans to build some cabinets (just ordered Tom Clark's book) and eventually move up to higher end stuff, perhaps.
Anyhow, I've gotten longer winded than I intended, as I have a habit of doing, so I'll cut it off here for now. See y'all around.Leave a comment:
