Time for a new MP3 Player?

I went to dump some fresh runnin' music down to my MP3 player tonight and got told by XP that the device no longer has a supported driver. Went out to the mfgr site to check on a new driver, they pulled support for the device in 2003. I got it in 2001 and it still works just fine, I just can't get music on it.

    More details please!

"dump some fresh runnin"? Is this truely mp3's or encoded? What program are you using, or are you just viewing it as a USB hard drive?

Have high speed? Download and burn a Linux bootable distro, and try it.

There are options, just not enough info.

    Worse case, get a BFH.

A lot of MP3 players just look like a thumb drive (to the computer)... can you look at it and read/write that way? Hint, plug it into the USB,
disregard the driver error msg, open my computer and see if you have a new drive registered.

Runnin' music = music to listen to while I am running. Van Halen has been on there for the last several months.

Loring, already tried a card reader but the card comes up as unformatted in Windows. The player sees files on it though so I am assuming it uses some weird non-standard file format. Like I said, it is pretty old so that is why it needs a custom driver. Players now the card looks more or less like another removeable drive.

Also gonna give XP Pro a try on my laptop. I have MCE at home and it does some weird stuff sometimes.
