I upon returning home from the ER posted this topic. The next day I posted a follow up topic with pictures and an explanation on why it happened. A couple of weeks later I posted a topic about the jig I designed that could have prevented my injury.
The purpose of today's topic is to give just one more reminder how dangerous our hobby can be with just a moments lapse in judgement or inattention. Not a single day goes by that I do not remember my injury. The tip of my finger is likely forever numb. Even though I do not need to I find that I sometimes avoid using that finger. Although it might take some thought and additional effort I believe that most risk can be mitigated by set-up or construction of a jig.
Let's be safe out there!
