Even though you're from the "dark side", we still love having you around, Rod.

I have a WW friend who recently had a artificial knee... he had some complications with blood clots from the knee getting in his lungs (could have been in the brain or heart - stroke or Heart attack) so they got him on some strong blood thinners/anticlotting agents... They told him not to shave or get cut. WW is apparently a no-no for some time to come - too dangerous; he may bleed to death if he gets cut.

Not trying to scare anyone - juts gotta do what you gotta do to get better!

Glad to hear you are feeling better. I missed your original post so a Belated get well soon. I had a similiar experience two years ago (age 58). Really scary when the lights go out. I was lucky and my wife was home and called 911. Ended up with one stent and meds. As LCHIEN posted I too continue to be on anti-coagulants (Plavix) to combat blood clots. Hate it when I cut myself, takes forever to stop bleeding. Take care of yourself, your shop inspires me to clean up.

Get well soon Rod. Need to watch that diet and exercise now - both things we all generally hate to do.

My brother had a triple bypass some 5 years ago and the bypasses all seem to have died, or stopped functioning now and he suffers from really bad angina attacks. Walks around with nitroglycerin to help him get through the day. Seems like they're going to have to redo the bypasses sometime soon. Not a pleasant prospect.

As to the bleeding from thinner blood, I keep a few tubes of superglue strategically placed around the house and try to stick the wound together. Works most of the time.

On a lighter note, I was telling my nephew who lives up the road from you in Sydney about the crazy weather we have been experiencing here in the East from freezing temperatures one week to balmy spring like days the next. His simple reply, and I quote: "So you are saying that 25 degree fluctuations are unusual? In Australia we call that Melbourne."

Hope this cheers you up somewhat.
