What's Your Plans

Some of the recent topics have once again reminded me of the early days when each weekend someone would start a topic of "what are you doing this weekend?" I thought it might be nice to try to get this going again so what are you doing for New Years Day?

I'm forseeing some shoptime making my version of a shop-made tail vise. Might even have oldest son out in the shop also building something.

Slapping up some drywall in my garage, had to take it down to studs and rewire...and hopefully making my first cuts on mah new toy (bt3) while getting some laminate down.

Never time to do this stuff during normal business days....*sigh*

Bowl games, bowl games, and more bowl games. I may take some time in there to feed my kids .

I did get some shop time yesterday, and I would love to finish it tomorrow, so I may actually do that, but I doubt it.

Oh wait a minute...I'll actually be shovelling tomorrow. That's right, how did I forget that?

I will be putting finish on the new wooden router bases I made out of scrap (wipe on poly) and a gunstock I modified. I might make something else if I think of a good canidate. I will also watch some bowl games (but the one I am most interested in is on tonight).

I'll catch a little of the Insight bowl (OSU/IU) tonight, to bed by11PM at the latest. Tomorrow after breakfast I'll watch a little of the Cotton Bowl and get in a little shop time. After the blackeyed peas and cornbread I'll probably watch a little more of what ever bowl game is on at the time, Maybe sneak a nap in there somewhere

My school's band is marching in the Gator Bowl halftime show, so this marks the only time I'll watch half a football game, assuming they televise the halftime. Otherwise, it's shop time finishing a couple of desk clocks.

I'll be typing 2007 spending info into Quicken for a couple hours, painting baseboard for a couple hours, weeding my front yard for an hour, shampooing carpets for an hour, and generally making myself useful around the house. As Red Green says (more or less), "If you can't be handsome, you can at least be handy."

I finally got started on sanding and applying finish to my baseboard trim over the weekend, so I'll probably start installing that.

Exactly one year ago today, we started our remodel. Ironically, the first things removed during the demo phase were the ranch style baseboards (my four year old loved doing that).

Yes, the remodel has now officially hit the one-year mark. Still have some things to finish after the baseboards...pantry, hall closet etc.

Tonight, 31..drink some beer, watch Indiana play, drink somemore beer, watch Auburn play, drink somemore beer, watch 2008 enter and drink somemore beer, Did I mention I will be drinking some beer? Warsteiner. Tomorrow put on the collard greens, ham hocks, black eyed peas and cornbread and drink some beer and watch bowl games, esp. Rose Bowl.. and I plan to start to modify my BT-3000 saw and drink some beer.

was hoping for some shop time but I fell acroos a deal on an electric scooter lift for my truck. Have to go get it tomorrow.

Might go look at a Radial arm saw from Craigslist for $50 other than that nothing execpt for some football and football and more football.

Tonight LOML and I took her 92 year old mom out to Outback Steak House for dinner and then went and saw Charley's War. It is now 10pm pst. Had a nice prime rib, baked spud, salad and a glass of wine. Enjoyed the movie even though I saw the History Channel story on Charley's war. It also gives you some what of an understanding of what came after and why things are like they are over there. with out getting into the politics of it. A great evening we are home safe and no headaches in the morning, might even go out in the shop and do new pen to start the new year. Have a great 2008 everyone

We will be doing Christmas with my dad on New Years Day. Then Sunday we will have one more and the final round of Christmas. I will be watching any bowl game that I can get loose for, and maybe get back to my book case/ hutch project. The Orange Bowl is mandatory here.
