How heavy is your wife's purse?

My wife has the heaviest purse in the county I think. She claims it contains everything she might need. Usually it does. The thing weighs in at over 13 lbs. and is less than 12". Those poor straps! How heavy is your wife's purse (handbag)?

Heavy enough that I don't want to carry it. Besides all the normal female stuff, she has 40 gazillion pens and pencils in the bottom.

it's not that big and doesn't seem that heavy, but she frequently loses her keys and phone in it.

My wife's isn't too bad. My grandmother is a different story. At one point in the '80s, she used a duffle bag for a purse. Even then, she complained about not having enough room. Then again, she is a senile ole .....

3.8 pounds, which isn't bad, but I won't dig through it....dirty tissues don't weigh much!

With LOML's Purse. I use the Armed Forces rule. Don't ask, Don't tell. I would guess it would make good ballast in the keel of a sail boat.

I had the privilege of shopping for a new handbag for my wife for Christmas. She was insistent. She wanted a new bag, and I was to supply it.

What a thankless task that was!

ps She keeps her purse in order and does not carry much in there. OTOH, she has a brand new German sports sedan. She thinks litter bags are bad (I'm not sure exactly why), so she throws trash all over the car. Go figger.

                    I don't think I've ever carried my wife's purse.

LOML is well-organized light traveler. She has more than 1 purse and takes the one that fits the occasion. When we go to the show - purse is probably less than 1 lb. It contains small binoculars, keys, wallet, phone, pack of tissues and 1 pill of tylenol. When we go on a 4-day vacation - purse will be several times more significant but still very manageable. It will iclude travel maps, DSLR for example. Speaking of - we usually go on a 4-day vacation trip without checking any luggage in the airport. Makes up for a lot faster way out of the airport. Everything we need for 3-4 days we carry with us into the plane. Even when we go on longer trip - 3 day survival kit is with us in the cabin. Somehow airlines are very consistent losing or redirecting our luggage, so we are always prepared to survive 3 days without it.
What is worth mentioning - my wife is alergic to cosmetics. Her purse never contains any parfumes, lipstick, powder, etc. She does not use this stuff at all.

How does she get a table saw, router, MS, planer, jointer and other things in there?
LOML doesn't carry a heavy purse because if she had one, she'd ask me to carry it. Sorry, I'll only do so much for her.

I will be the first to admit that my purse is quite heavy at times but it also depends on how many kids are with me and if I have Thomas. On quick trips to town I usually have a cup of juice, diaper my wallet and an extra pacifier. Just me, I usually don't have much more than a wallet and my phone, but my purse is also a large one and I carry some extra things I would need to work. But I don't think it weighs 13 pounds.

Don't know how much it weighs but I do know its HEAVY! I suggested to my wife one time why not try and find a bag with a Zipper on the bottom since every time you look for something you wind up dumping it all out on the table. All I got for that great suggestion was a dirty look!
