HF Ni_cad Batteries - Should I Even Consider?

This seems like something that HF could fail at pretty badly.

Does not give the rating on them or anything in the ad.

    4 AAA = 2.99
    4 AA = 2.99
    2 C 2.99
    2 D 2.99
    1 9v 2.99

    Info from website on AA
    Charge time: 14 hours @ 70MA (standard), 1.3 hrs. @ 700MA (rapid charge)

Website price shows #2.49 for AA .

Website shows they have these :
RECHARGEABLE NiMH AA BATTERIES, 4 PK

Higher capacity than NiCd batteries, 2000 mAh
14 hrs. charge time @ 70MA and 4 hrs. charge time @ 220MA (rapid charge)

    4 AA = $3.49

I have had good luck using there batts. I like the NiMH over the Ni Cads I have them in a scanner that gets a fair amount of use and they last about 2 months before needing recharging. I have them in a mag light that s going strong after 6 months on the first charge. The AA in the scanner are about two years old and the Ds in the mag light about the same.Replacement batterys from Radio Shack will cost five times what HF cost for the same AH rating. YMMV

      Not good for electric fences....

Brought them for my retired Dad who has garden in wooded area and they didn't hold a charge very long.... Bunnies and groundhogs were happy though ...

I'd stick to NiMH over NiCad.
Less polluting, but more importantly, better electrical characteristics all around...
more capacity, better charge retention and less memory.

The orange ones you don't want. The green ones are good. I use them for everything.

I have had horrible luck with all of the HF batteries that I have tried. However, I have purchased batteries elsewhere and swapped them out for the ones that come in certain things from HF and I've been happy with that.

Have you tried searching the Internet for battery deals? There are usually some very good deals on good batteries around this time.
