Were at Son's place in Boise Idaho. Went to local WoodCraft. Nice store owend by 3 women. Like the layout and very friendly. Store was busy. Bought a pen making DVD to watch and a couple of pen kits to take home. Cold here high of 35. Took oldest Grandson to outlet mall and got him a new heavy jacket. Will take the twins this afternoon for their jackets. College football was great. Boise is sad today as the beloved Broncos lost to Hawaii (spelling) last night.

The downtown mall here in Boise opend at 1am Friday 10,000 people showed up. My opinion Black Friday is a joke, turns normal people into idiots or maybe they are normally idiots and cover it up by acting normal. I feel for the employees who have cut short their holiday to go to work early the next day and face the mob. Have been pretty good about the eating but haven't missed a meal yet. Today is Turkey sandwichs and dressing while watching college football. Have few Grandpa things to do for the kids today. Nice thing is the garage is fully insulated so you can go out and do things without freezing you rear.

Leave for home Monday after droping oldest Grandson at School. That is what is nice about being retired, you can travel when you want and avoind the holiday traffice mess. 8 1/2 hour drive back to Sacramento, but not a bad drive, no traffic. I miss my shop as not a lot to do here when it is so cold. I have to come back the end of January to help watch the kids while mom is out of town. Weather permiting I will drive and bring my Lathe with me so I can do something, can't stand to watch TV all day.

I think by the time I added the extra controllers and the games I got right up there. But that is okay, it has kept the family occupied enough that I can do other work.

I spent the entire day buiding a wall to partition off a room that my son's Cub Scout den uses. Today I am icing my sore shoulder and digging splinters out!

This is the first chance I've had to use up some vacation time since I moved in to my new house around the end of June and I was tired of having to spend an hour moving things to be able to use a machine. I spent most of the weekend making supports in the overhead to free up floor space and making some bench hooks to use my table saw as a plane bench. When planning my new shop, I had visions of a Rod Kirbyesque type setup but that didn't work out for a lot of reasons. Regardless, it now works and all of a sudden, everything can be used without having to move anything.

Big work day around the house for me. Not as big as last year (tearing apart kitchen and installing new cabinets/counters) but lots of work. Fixing wiring this year. I removed some more knob and tube wiring that was in pretty bad shape and put in new romex. Replaced the boxes and outlets, plus moved the outlets from heavily loaded to lightly loaded circuits. Then I continued this work Sunday by installing a new outlet in the kitchen (two more to go in the kitchen).

The shopping was on Saturday, and didn't really get too much other than a chest freezer that comes on Wednesday, with the delivery guys taking out the old monster International Harvester unit that the previous owner left for us, which we never used because of how old and disgusting looking it was.
