Once, as a joke, I setup a filter in Outlook to automatically forward (and then delete) any email with the word penis to my brother. He said it drove him nuts for months. During the height of the whole penile enlargement scams he said he was getting about 50 a day and then I added all of the ones that I would get on top of that.

Jeffrey, if you are diligent about reporting anything that gets through as spam in Gmail it will begin to figure out why they got through in the first place and stop them.

The current one that I get a lot of (1 or 2 per week) is the "I'm Sargent So-And-So and I've found large amounts of cash here in Iraq and I need help moving it out of the country" scam. Classic Nigerian scam with an American twist.

In my local users group, someone got po'd at the members. They added them to just about every adult website signup they could find.

Had to shut down the list, and make it approved to be on, then it would take posts from you after that. A big PITA.

Between that, and the people who don't understand when you cc something, whoever gets it, has your email address. If they are computer illiterate, and forward all... (you see where this is going?)

g-mail has the best spam filter, maybe you could switch to that... I get lots of spam, but 99.9% of it is blocked.

I went from zero spam in my Gmail spam folder to 4-5 per day. Over 50% of those are for penis enlargement. Thom suggests it could be my ex-spouse getting even . . .
