    Oh The Irony

And the Image Rehab Has Begun:

Vick attends an animal appreciation course. At PETA no less:

That is nice, but he'll have to forgive me if I don't ask him to dog-sit for me...

I can't and probably you can't pass the PETA test. They don't want us hunting, fishing or eating meat.

Does anyone recall when PETA was demanding that a New England town by the name of Fishkill change its name? There's no middle ground as far as they are concerned. As far a Vink, they'll have him shunning hot dogs too because of the implied eating of a canine.
        Blessings,

Who cares? He blew his NFL chances when he pleaded guilty. Maybe he can play in the Italian football league when his done doing time. I could care less. I don’t buy into the “I’m not a roll model” thing for people who get paid millions per season to play a ball game.

Barry Bonds never pleaded guilty to steroids and he still got let go AFTER he broke the all time home run record. He won’t bring them anything now but bad PR so off he goes..

Not hijack this post but I do remember when PETA had it in Fishkill. I was born and raised in Fishkill. I was shocked and amazed...

A few minutes on the internet would have done PETA good. They would have found out that area is heavy Dutch country. "kill" in Dutch means "stream" so Fishkill means stream full of fish. Hence Peekskill, Cobleskill, Catskill, etc..

I don’t know what a stream full of cobles are but I’m sure it’s very nice..

What a bunch of self serving crap! Note that Vick was the only student in the class and PETA wanted to make sure it wasn't a PR ploy.

            Part of the article:

Shannon said Vick passed a "very rigorous" written test at the conclusion of the course.

I would like to see that test!

PETA wants the NFL to require the course, or one like it, for all players, Shannon said.

Guess PETA thinks all the NFL players are pet killers

On the up side to most of us, I heard on the radio today that Virginia IS prosecuting the whole bunch for dog fighting. Max 5 years on each count.

There are folks who have pigs as pets. Didn't they have to kill the pig to get that skin?

I was born and raised in that area. Used to go up to the Catskills to do a little hiking and mountain biking.

Yep, but if you trained pigs and then had them fight to the death while you gambled on it, that would be illegal too. I have a friend who raises chickens. He considers the hens to be pets with benefits (the eggs). The roosters? He considers them to be mighty tasty and I have eaten enough of them to agree. If he considered them to be for sport (cockfighting) he'd have a problem, because I'd turn him in. You can raise an animal for slaughter without being cruel to it.

The PETA folks wanted the Green Bay Packers to rename themselves as the Green Bay Pickers. They'll do anything to make a headline.

I, as a card carrying menber of PETA, am highly offended by the one of theis thread!
