    I'm in TROUBLE!

And I did it on purpose.

Way back in '74, I had one red rose delivered to my bride on this date to commemorate our 1st anniversary. In '75, it was 2 roses and and the tradition continues today with a rose for each year.

Around 11:15 this morning the florist delivered an arrangement of 33 red roses. (To save you the math, there should have been 34. ) She was ready to refuse them and make the kid go get the missing rose when she read the card I wrote. Sure enough it said 33 years.

She called me at work at 11:20, told me she got them, and wanted to know what happened to the missing year. I played dumb until she went through the fact that there were only 33 roses before it 'hit' me that there should have been 34. Many excuses and appologies later I told her I loved her and would make it up to her.

When we get to the restaurant tonight there will be a card on the table that reads,

    And one more...

    Makes Thirty-Four!

with the missing rose laying across it.

I owe one to my neighbor, the florist, and the restaurant manager for serving as my accomplices to pull this off!

Wow, Pappy. 34 years is a long time...I should know, my 34th b'day comes up later this month.

Hope it doesn't make ya feel too old. Congratulations and best wishes.

Way to go Pappy. I'm sure when she gets the 34th she will love it.......however you may still have to do some convincing that it was all planned.

Many years ago when I was dating my wife (we'll be 24 years in October), we had a fight before she left for Disney World with her friends. I sent a dozen roses to her in Florida. Well, the florist sent 13 roses instead of 12. Not sure if if was an accident or a nice jesture. But to this day, she still wants to know why I sent 13 & not 12.

Congrats again on the 34th anniversay.

Everything came off without a hitch and she loved it!

Obvious that it was planned and not a 'save' since the card under the rose was made, not bought, and the correct florist's card for 34 years was on the table and in my handwriting.

If Pappy is up at 6:46 AM posting on BT3 the morning after his 34th anniversary dinner with the special restaurant suprise and extra rose, then he's either superman or maybe it didn't go so well...

Seems like an occcasion to sleep in late, OR, maybe 7AM IS LATE for Pappy, being a mail carrier and all.

                            great story pappy.
