I myself thought the post was great. I got a good laugh out of it. The juxtaposition of a tech help script with political retoric was hilarious.

I'm with Dave on this. I read it and saw humor in it. When it comes to politics on this forum the line has always been pretty big, at least in my opinion. Many topics have been started with the sam intent as this latest one that rather quickly generated responses that clearly crossed the line leading to moderator involvement. Some even after mod intervention, and in at least a few cases that I can remember Sam gave warnings to drop it and move along only to result in even more traffic so the topic finally gets locked. This forum has mostly done an outstanding job of being self policing comparred to many of the other forums that I have posted to, and even more that I have lurked upon. Many forums have over-moderation where they lock topics quickly for AFAICS rather random reasons.

IMHO the best thing to do prior to posting any thing even remotely political in content is ask yourself how others may turn it into a political discussion. If it can go there do not post it but PM or email it to specific persons whom you know will find humor in it. Or even go so far as email it to a mod or admin (Thom, Sam) and see what they think.
