    Bad Timing

I went to HD this morning to spend a couple of gift cards that were burning a hole in my pocket. I went to get the Bosch Colt laminate router. As I was leaving HD I decided to go the interstate home and save about 5 minutes time and as I got on the on ramp a truck in front of me threw a rock and cracked my windshield. Any other time I would have went the other way home. Sometimes it pays to stay with your routine.

Here in Arkansas it is a State Law that They be covered with a tarp. Most of the truckers have one that is almost automatic, yet they fail to use them. You get the truck # and tag # and Call, You get nothing for Your trouble. Bill

Sorry about your windshield, Ken. At least you weren't hurt. I hope you at least got the Colt out of this.

Must be a way to turn this into a HD bashing thread....

But seriously, if you have the truck tag or even just the name on the side you should be able to avoid the deductible on the comprehensive. That way your just out the time.

I got the last unopened colt they had Ken but the way my luck was going when I got home there was a 10% off coupon from HD in the mailbox.

We have that same law Bill. This was a covered truck and he must have thrown it up from the road.

Bill I do have comprehensive and it is a state law that the insurance company has to replace my windshied without costing me anything.

Similar story: My wife and two tiny children were driving through UNC where they're doing a lot of construction. She was just noticing that the dump truck in front of her had no license plate (not even a muddy one) when it went over a bump and the entire tailgate literally bounced off and slammed onto the road behind the truck. Fortunately she was heeding the "keep back 100 ft" warning on the truck so she had time to stop and go around.

I told the police and the company doing the construction work. No reply. I suppose someone has to get seriously hurt before they take notice of this type of thing...

Mr__Bill -- I suspect this happened because she was thinking about stopping by Home Depot on the way back...
