          Happy Birthday G.

It's nifty to be fifty, (especially if you're a tree)

No matter what, I'm still older than you

Have a great day, it only comes around once in a lifetime.

                      A Half Century....

Thanks for all the good wishes! Yep, I'm the big Five-Oh today, a fact which #2 Son won't let me forget! Just wait until he goes to sleep tonight...

Today I'm working on a video and some paperwork which have to be sent out tomorrow. I'm applying to take one of our shows to the State Thespian Festival in January, and the application is due on Aug 1.

Yesterday the entire family took me out to breakfast at Waffle House, then to Woodcraft with my 10% off scratcher card. Thanks to you guys, I scratched off the upper right box for another 5% off. I picked up a 16-piece Forstner bit set to replace my Cummins/Chinese 5-piece set, some dust collection hose, and some 12" bar clamps (on sale for $2.50 each!). Next we went to Rockler where we looked at a Delta X5 8" jointer (it's still in the store ), then we went off to the Lowe's across the street, where LOML bought me a Delta 6" jointer. Woo hoo!! Not suckworthy as we paid full price, but now I have a jointer.

After we lugged the jointer home and put the box in the garage, it was off to Longhorn Steakhouse for dinner, where the waitress was a former student of mine. We left her a hefty tip. They had planned to take me to the new Cabela's near the restaurant, but we decided to go home and nap instead. Actually, the nap was the only part of the day I got to decide--they planned all the rest!

This morning I got up early and started putting together the jointer, but I stopped after two hours (just the fence and adjustments to go). It was hot and VERY humid this morning, and I'm not as young as I used to be...

As I said, I'm doing some work right now, but that's OK, because my beloved Cardinals just took a 9-5 lead over the Brewers in the bottom of the 8th.

                      Better get back to work....
