No Ivy League alumnus here, but I'd challenge the Hockey comment.

You forgot all the Poison-Ivy league schools, of which I am an alumni.

I should have said our canadian hockey players can beat your canadian hockey players but you're from minnesota so Maybe I'd better not say that.

How about "Our hockey team can beat every other hockey team in the Ivy League with the possible exception of Harvard in some years (remember the movie Love Story in 1970?) and give everyone else outside the league a run for the money".

Bleeding green here. Definitely can't take you in hockey, and footbal has been pretty sad since Fiedler left. But strap on some skis, and we'll smoke you, uphill or down. A niche sport, sure, but I've personally trained with at least 5 Olympians.

More importantly pull up a bar stool, and we'll leave you under it! Well, back in the day, anyway.

I had a lunch date one time with a young lady from Harvard. We met on campus and ate there. Does that count?

The poll didn't specify undergrad, so I guess I qualify (Columbia Law).

                  Hockey eh?

                  http://www.uscho.com/rankings/

I see Dartmouth up there barely beating out my hometown university team good old MTU... Cornell got a vote. But otherwise I guess I didn't realize that the Ivy league was a force to be reckoned with compared with the WCHA.

Of course I shouldn't talk because the buckeye's hockey program has sort of fallen off the map.

Me TOO! I am a perpetual student there! Can't seem to graduate. But when I try to leave it behind, its tale tail rash shows up.

I think the latter is better said, considering:
the “my hockey team is better than yours” doesn’t carry much water, er make that frozen water.
Cornell 2 NCAA titles, Harvard 1, out of 60.

There are dozens of schools that have one way or another used or been referred to as the "Harvard of the Midwest". Do they count?

                              Ivy League??

No, but I did go to St. Lawrence University, one of the older prestige schools. Can't remember exactly but at least 100 years old! PreMed, PreLaw, as well as other specialities. Glad I went when I did (seems like a K years ago) because the cost now is about $35K a year!!! But one great thing, if you are on the staff (not just professors) your kid can go for free! That a real perk.
