My Son is being deployed to Iraq

The dreaded "D" word - DEPLOYMENT. My son, Nathan, is being deployed to Iraq on the 10th (Tuesday) and we're requesting your prayers. He's in the 3rd Stryker Brigade of the 2nd Infantry division which is based in Seattle (Ft Lewis). That unit is scheduled to come home in October and my son will joining them in Iraq. I'm asking for prayers for:

    1. Safety and Protection.
    2. Not being reassigned and coming home with the unit in October.
    3. He's a medic and he's concerned that the enemy is targeting medics.

Picture of him and his mom when we visited him in San Antonio.

Here are some links if you want to follow his unit which is now in Baqubah.

My wife and I traveled to Seattle to visit him June 23-24 and we had a great visit together. This will be a very tough week for us all.

Prayers sent....which means he'll be fine.
Happiness is sort of like wetting your pants....everyone can see it, but only you can feel the warmth.

          Dragon skin body armor!

My younger brother has been to Iraq 3 times and will be redeployed again next year to either Iraq or Afghanistan.

His first trip (desert storm) was as infantry. Since his first time over he has become a Chinook pilot.

Best thoughts and concern for him and all the other men & women serving. They all represent the best of who we are...or who we can be. They all have my thoughts to be safe and coming home soon!

Medics are the best of the best. You must be really proud of him! Hope their exposure to danger is quickly reduced, and that he and his unit come through it OK.

                  Evening Gary...

I'll mention Nathan in my prayers. He has been trained to react and will have more experienced veterrans around to show him the ropes when he first gets there. He should be fine.

                  Regards...

You will all be in my prayers. That has to be a real tough situation. We wish a successful and safe stay while he's there, and a timely trip back home.
