    Bad eyes, but it looks like a tack hammer for upholstery work. One end of mine has a magnet to pick up the tacks.

      That's what My very first thought was, too, an upholstery tack hamer.

              Without looking at the responses, that's a tack hammer. The split side of the head can be used to start small finish nails and is also magnetized to start tacks too small to hold.
