WHAT CASE IS THAT? There is no case yet. At least as far as we know. This is almost as good as Who shot JR.

      Ed did.

Unfortunately, I'm from California and don't know the difference betweeen Illinois and Indiana - it's all just "back East" to me. That's why I called the Illionois Atty. Gen.

They were very accommodating. Apparently they've cleared up all the crime in Illinois, except for that controlled by Mayor Daley. They didn't seem to be too anxious to follow up on Hizzonor and his pals, for some reason.

The difference is in the spelling. You're a different JR. The JR I'm talkin' about is probably before you younguns time.

Well, since we're just shooting the breeze while waiting for Ed to get back...

In the early '70s I worked at a gas station in Malibu, right by where Larry Hagman lived. At that time he drove a step van; sort of a larger version of a van you'd have if you wanted to scare the pants of your date's father.

This thing had a 4' round domed sky light. The driver's seat was a wooden office chair with a sheepskin draped on it. In the back was nothin' but carpet and pillows.

When Hagman came to get the thing after we serviced it, he was wearing blue overalls and carrying a big man-purse of some kind. He skipped accross PCH stopping all the traffic. Everyone in the station just stood gape-mouthed watching this display. What a fruitcake.

Right, this is the country where we locked up thousands of citizens and took their property during WWII with no trial. Oh, yeah, and hanged suspected witches.

No, it's not panic-mongering, he's absolutely right. A cop would not be wasting his time driving out to Ed's house and scheduling another interview unless someone was VERY interested in him. And maybe it's bogus, but even a rogue cop or prosecutor can make your life very miserable. Ask the Duke LaCrosse team, or anyone who went to prison in the high-profile child sex abuse cases back in the 1980s, virtually every one of which has been proven to be a farce.

If Ed needs help, there's plenty of free legal services available.

Not to be an alarmist or anything but if it were me I'd be Lawyering up about now. Then the next step is buy the best harddrive wiping program available and wiping the PC. Then re-installing any software. With your intent being to get rid of any possible trojans that may have sent the email.

I'm thinking that telling the investigator that Yes, I own a computer may be enough extra info they need to secure a search warrant for the PC.

I also thought about wiping it clean, but if they want to see it, that would just add to suspicions.

They already knew I had a computer because they already did the investigation on it. I guess they wanted to see if I was going to lie about it.
