Who says you can't learn from your kids

My 20 year old daughter showed me a really cool trick the other day.

Now this sounds really crazy, but if works.

If you hold you car's remote against your throat (or some other body part, and no I haven't tried all of them, the range or the remote is increased.

I tried this and it does work. I assume that you body acts like a transmission tower, utilizing a larger area, therefore, making the remote's signal stronger.

Probably Loring or one of you other telcom wiz's can explain why this works and if it will turn you into a mute, or something.

I'd be interested hearing what you guys come up with.

I always use my chin for that
All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dream with open eyes, to make it possible

I haven't tried that yet, but it's probably like touching your TV antenna and getting a reception change. But increasing the distance on my truck's remote sounds great. I'm gonna try hooking a 102" whip antenna to it.

well, here's how I understand it works.
The RF energy from the Fob affects your optic cortex nerve, making your vision shift. The eye-image becomes smaller to the brain making the car appear to be farther away, thus reinforcing the apparent observation that the remote range has increased.
