How satisfied are you in your job?

Forget how much you earn, or how much you have to work, or benefits / vacation / etc. Just the job you do. How satisfied? If you work at more than one job, use the one you work at the most. And, please, if you will --- what do you do?

My job is Fibre Channel SAN support. I'm the guy you call when you can't get all the pieces working together. So I basically know a little about a lot. What I actually do is read stuff like this:

        10/20/06 10:11A 514 Major CTP-0 04FF00FF 86CD8310 FFFFFFFF FFFFFFF
        06/25/06 03:20A 514 Major CTP-0 0BFF00FF 254E4324 FFFFFFFF FFFFFFF
        06/17/06 01:20A 81 Minor CTP-0 03000000 05000000 10000800 8860AE5E

and figure out why it either went 'sproing' or why it isn't working at all.

I actually enjoy my job for the most part. Been delivering the same route about 6 years and llike most of my customers. Could use a better management system, though.

I'm a lawyer. I limit my practice to criminal defense. I've been trying criminal cases for just under 35 years. I'm 63 and I have no intention of retiring until I have to. I don't take as many cases as I used too, and I practice out of my home. So my overhead is 1/20th what it used to be with a staff and an office.

I found my niche. Still a 10 here.

so do you have accused criminal defendants coming to your home all the time or do you go visit them wherever they may be?

                    just curious.

I work in the electric power industry. The job pays very well, there are lots of interesting things going on, and I'd rather be working in a different part of the business. But it pays and I'm a bit young to be retiring just yet.

Very rarely. Usually I meet at Starbucks or restaurants if they are out on bail.

Give it a 9+. I landed in my dream job about 10 years ago. I get to inspect dams in the mountains of Colorado all summer, then work on dam designs and engineering analyses all winter. It's not completely perfect, but if it was fun all the time, they wouldn't call it work, would they?
Whatever did man go back to before the drawing board was invented?

I have a dream that dream is to get the heck out of working in the printing business and build custom wood gun carrying cases. Sell them on ebay or to local gun club members and make more than I am now. I don't even own a gun (well paintball gun) Since I don't have all the tools or skills yet for this I'm stuck for now. I have been working in the printing business for 29 years. I have grown to hate it. I'd walk away in a heart beat if I could.
