    Air_Cycle

I know there are plane buffs and motorcycle buffs on BT3. A friend of mine sent me these pics that I thought I would share with you all. Pretty cool concept but I wonder how it really rides?

Don't know why the reference to Air_cycle.
Got a 8 cyl. radial engine, though...
Maybe because radial engines were use extensively in propeller driven warplanes until the mid-late WWII when V-12s started to take over due to their streamlined shape (for more speed). But the radials were air-cooled and not susceptible to damage to the cooling system like water cooled V-12s.
As you can see the radial arrangement of the cylinders makes it somewhat ungainly in the motorcycle but in the airplane in the back, the air clearly flows well past the prop and cylinders for cooling.

I think having the belt turning at the inside of your left calf/thigh would be more than ungainly .. but I bet it snorts. Radials always sound so cool.

Enh, I'd take something with a single cylinder 2 stroke and 12 inches of suspension travel over that anyday...

This one would have better air flow for cooling

Insane, but I bet it sounds good. I too, like the sound of a big radial.

Definitly a different approach to MC building but if you are going to adapt an airplane engine to 2 wheels, go for the gusto! This was designed and built by the son of legendary salt flat racer Art arfons.
