Don't know why the reference to Air_cycle.
Got a 8 cyl. radial engine, though...
Maybe because radial engines were use extensively in propeller driven warplanes until the mid-late WWII when V-12s started to take over due to their streamlined shape (for more speed). But the radials were air-cooled and not susceptible to damage to the cooling system like water cooled V-12s.
As you can see the radial arrangement of the cylinders makes it somewhat ungainly in the motorcycle but in the airplane in the back, the air clearly flows well past the prop and cylinders for cooling.Last edited by LCHIEN; 04-11-2007, 11:33 AM.

Enh, I'd take something with a single cylinder 2 stroke and 12 inches of suspension travel over that anyday...
