    I miss my husband

For those of you who don't know Sam has gone hiking on the Appalachian trail. He left last Friday and won't be home till Thursday or Friday. I have spoke to him briefly a couple of times. Sounds like he is having a good time.

I think I will need a vacation by the time he gets back.

A friend of mine once set out to hike the whole trail one summer. After a few days hiking and reflecting on her decision she called for a ride home. I guess it's better to take it a bit at a time.

          A Walk in the Woods

Anyone thinking about walking the A' Trail or that knows anyone thinking about walking the A' Trail should read Bill Bryson's A Walk in the Woods. It is absolutely hilarious. You should have Sam read it when he gets back.

Which part of the trail is he doing? Is he hitting the northbound thru-hiker wave yet?

He has read it and that is one of the reason he wants to section hike the entire thing. I personally think he is nuts.

He is hiking near Damacus, VA. He and two others are doing about 52 or so miles. He called yesterday and said he was looking at the wild ponies. That is something I would like to see. He took his camera so I will have him post some pictures when he gets back.

And to answer Thom, I think I will smack him upside the head when he gets back. I didn't realize he didn't tell the rest of the moderators he was going. If you need anything you can contact me. He did show me how to reboot the server. Which I may say I proudly did this weekend when I noticed it was down. Who say's we need him.

He must be going through Grayson Highlands/Mt Rogers National Rec Area if he is looking at the wild ponies. Get him to take you and the boys there sometime. It is a great area because of the ponies and the views (there are a lot of bald areas through there kept that way by the ponies), and there are lots of connecting trails to make good loops for two to four day weekend hikes. I've introduced several people new to backpacking there, including my daughter when she was one.

Actually, I don't know how I am missing him because I haven't stopped running since he left. Chase has four baseball practices a week and David has scouts. So that leaves very little time to Chat. In addition I got on this major Spring Cleaning kick and when he walks in our house he isn't going to reconize it. I might be the one who gets smacked in the head I don't think I threw away anything that was important.

If you did it's his own fault, he should have been there helping you. He's out enjoying himself, while your back at the home front trying to hold things down by yourself!! It sounds like your doing just fine, keep up the good work!!!

Let's see the current smack count is at 3. Anyone else wants to chime in?

Since he wasn't here Sunday, and the moderators didn't know, maybe you should email Adele back and forth, and set up a time (that he is coming back). I am thinking, unplugged server, or make this board look like Adele changed it to some other hobby, as kinda a late April Fools Joke.

She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice.

You could try starting a conversation with "Honey - I was sure you used to shut the Server down on weekends..."

I seemed to remember a little while back Sam left to do some hiking and the server went down, so I did a quick search found this thread.

                            http://www.bt3central.com/showthread.php?t=23912

Sam leaves for hike ... server crashes ...... Hmmmmm I think I might see a pattern here!!!

I feel the same way lately Adele. I have a new job and its taking some time getting used to the shift I am working and then found out Richard has baseball pratice on tues and fri day nights and tues. he is supposed to have scouts and friday nights I work. And then add in there that I have to sleep sometime because the shift is 10 p.m. to 6 a.m AND try and take care of Thomas. When Mark leaves for hunting I feel the same way, I miss him but don't know why because I am usually busy with other things.
