    Bill.

I hate hearing these kind of things. It's getting so that more of our brothers are dying from what we did rather than by charlie's actions.

Please convey my condolence to the family. And thank them for his contribution.

My condolences to his family and friends. I have the utmost respect for our servicemen and women. In fact it's a pet peeve of mine when anyone says anything bad about them. I know nothing about the man except that he put on that uniform and tells me volumes about him. I think it's a tragedy how he and others like him were treated when they returned from the war (any war). On a very small upside, at least he was able to spend one last Christmas with his family. I'll say an extra prayer for him and his family tonight. Tell his family thank you for what their husband, father, uncle, etc has done for me and my family.

Sorry to hear about your loss. I was just in DC today with my wife and
sister-in-law. It was my SIL's first time here and we went to the Vietnam
Memorial as well as the other war memorials. I haven't been there in over 15
years and I wasn't old enough then to appreciate the sacrifice.

It was extremely sad. It's strange; usually as a kid you remember things being
much larger than they actually are. However, as I approached the Memorial,
it seemed to double in size from what I remembered. Very sad to think of the
immense loss of life and the ripple effect it has on all the people that knew that
                person.

Sorry to hear about the death of your friend. I lost a cousin to agent orange.
He was involved in an incursion in Cambodia, and get sprayed several times with the stuff. It literally burnt the clothes off his body. Of course the government denied any wrong doing, but the government has lied to us before then and now. I also knew other guys in Nam that got sprayed, and they are all now dead. What a waste.

                      Bill,
My condolences to you and his family, you must have been close while serving together I am sure!
It was nice that you have had the opportunity to share friendship so long after returning from Nam, being over there myself and around the AO I have often worried how it would affect me but sofarsogood and I hope your situation is the same!
Your friend, you and I were at least fortunate enough to have returned and lived this long unlike some of my buddies and I suppose some of yours who didn't make it back.
                      God bless and welcome home!

Sorry to hear about your friend. I lost a few friends during the VN conflict. Being in our 20's then, we didn't really think about what could hurt us. I've been to many military services including Arlington National Cemetery, and they are an honor.
