it looks cool but $25 a head is a little 'steep'.

I agree that $25.00 is way to much. Maybe $10.00 at the most. A family with 3 kids will be $125.00 for 5 to 15 minutes, and one of the kids will NOT go beyond the first step, making either mom or dad having to stay back too.

IF you like that, take the little roller coaster on top of the tower in Las Vegas!

        Been there, done that.

ie, been up to the rides at the top of the Stratosphere in Vegas, and stepped back because 'the kids did not want to go in'.
and frankly, it was only a matter of who blinks first - i would not have gone thru with it, i just did not want to be the first to say so
( the macho image, you know )

on retrospect, have to admit that LOML was the bravest : she was not afraid to say she was scared at the get-go

And yes, the name 'Insanity ride' was crazy enough! (and no, we did not need to pay till the last moment, so it did not cost me anything).

I saw something about that on the news this morning (around 3 a.m.) and I thought I heard them say that the price could cost up to 74.95, but seeing that I might have been dreaming...LOL....

And another thing, THERE IS NO WAY you will catch me out there. I can't even stand to be driving in the hills and have a sheer drop off on my side with out cringing and grabbing for a hand hold on something. There is no way I am going to walk on a side walk made of glass and look down and see nothing....

I recall reading in the news articles yesterday that the prices would be $49.95 to $199.95 per person depending upon the package.

You also have to wear cloth booties over your shoes to prevent scratching the glass floor (which is three inches thick, BTW.)

It opens March 28 to the public. So unless you are a celebrity astronaut or whatever (they invited buzz aldrin to the opening ceremony), not likely anyone here has visited it yet.

That thing is getting lots of ink where I live. I think it's really cool.

The tribe putting this in, the Yavapai I think they're called, are making a major push to bring tourists to their land. They are also implementing tours of the canyon and a new hotel. This is much more appropriate than putting a casino on the rim of the Grand Canyon!

I heard it was $50 for something, and then $25 for something else. So basiclly $75 to get out on the walk. Heard it can support something like 10 fully loaded 747's but they are only going to allow 125 people at at time.

I would love to go! But the wallet says no way!!!!!!!!!! Told the wife when it came on the news last night. I'll give them about a year and that price will be cut in 1/2

I think they're trying to recoupe their $$ waay too fast. They probably went into a lot of debt to build the sucker- considering is cost $30million. I think it's neat, but I can also understand some of the commotion about it being an eyesore on the face of a natural wonder...

They didn't spend a penny. A developer put up the $30M and in return gets a cut of the profits for the next xx years. Percentage and term not divulged. All they did was supply the location. Apparently one of the few assets they own.

I don't think Id go on it for free. I hung from a string on a helicopter. That was enough excitement to last me a lifetime. I didn't want to do that but the CO took all the NCO's and I was the Platoon Sergeant at the time so I had to lead by example.
I don't even like roller coasters. I have been on the one at California adventure twice and space mountain a couple times. Mostly peer pressure for those.

I went across the glass floor in the CN Tower. 1122 feet up. Quite the view and really freaky. It was included in the price of the tower tickets.

They tried that first... For some reason, folks coming from Vegas didn't want to spend hours on dirt roads to go to a fairly rundown casino apparently<shock>.

I liked hiking on/in the Grand Canyon, but I can't see paying $25/head to walk out on an artificial ledge and look down, when I can do the same thing (less throngs of people) by going just a couple hundred yards from the rim in the park. If you have a couple people in your family the yearly national park sticker will cost less, and be good so many other wonderful places too...
