    I feel dirty today

I just served on a jury in a trial involving the rape of a child. I hope I never see or hear such things again my whole life. It's going to stay with me a while and I'd appreciate your prayers. I came home last night, went into a dark room and cried.

You have mine too. People don't seem to realize what jurors have to go through when hearing some of the cases.

I have absolutely no problem with the fact that inmates seem to have "special" treatments for other inmates that harm children. It is one of the most unforgivable things you can do.

Sorry you had to go through that. I tend to be pretty liberal on most things, but the exception is child molestors. For my money, that is a one strike and you're out crime. Anyone who would do that has forfeited their right to live in society ever again.

Thought and prayer are with you. My LOML served on a Rape trial once and it affected her for along time. Don't be afraid to seek professional help if you need it.

That is horrible! I really feel for you! Those things really hang over your head and constantly create a black cloud. I hope you are able to get a grasp on it. I hope the ******* was convicted for life.

I will also be praying for you and the victim. As was mentioned, if you think you need it do not be afraid to seek professional help. A cousin of mine is a child welfare worker. They have 2 counselors on staff who talk to her and her colleagues almost as much as they talk to the kids.

You have my prayers also, and prayers for the victim.

And I won't go into details on what I would like to do to people who hurt children, it isn't pretty.

I feel your pain, Gary. I served on the same type of jury several years ago. After 11 hours of discussion, we found the son of a beech guilty. He got 65 years.

It took several months and therapy to get the things I heard and saw out of my head.

                      You're in my thoughts, bro.

According to tradition, the prophet Muhammed married the favorite of his four wives, Aisha, when she was nine. An older Aisha, following Muhammed's death, was the successful military leader of the group of followers that became known as Sunnis, keeping political/religious power in her family line rather than letting it pass to the son of Muhammed's first wife as might have been expected. The Shiites continue to dispute this!

(Due in some part to non-Muslim questions, some scholars are recently arguing that she might have been as old as 16.)

In Iran since the Islamic revolution, nine is therefore the minimum age of marriage.

Nothing particularly new or American about some folks being attracted to the young. Seems to often be associated with what people think they can get away with. Re the 50% of US college guys who said they'd rape if they were certain they'd not be caught.

Gary I feel for you ... and will keep you in my prayers ... I'm sure that I would not be able to handle what your going thru alone ..

IMO, I don't care what culture, religion, or country your from, being "attracted" in that way to a minor (as in under 16 yrs old) is just plain SICK ...

Even though I believe in forgiveness, these type of sicko's (WHEN proven guilty) should be locked in a room with child's father & brothers for an hour "unsupervised" and anything goes ... I'm sure this would definately have an impact on the occurrance rate in North America.

I can't handle or stand to watch NBC's Dateline: To Catch a Predator ...

You know what scripture says about this kind of person who would harm one of (His) little ones. It would be better that a millstone be tied around their neck and cast into the deep. Still sounds too lenient, somehow. But, then again, these pervs may spend eternity 'drowning. Who knows but it won't be good. I hope it's not too wrong to get some satisfaction from another's eternal suffering.

I don't know if it's just me or is the world becoming a sicker more vile place.

Nothing except for murder, is more revolting than a rape or violation of a child.
The innocence of a child being violated is beyond disgust. The guilty parties in all of this deserve no mercy.

I'm sorry to hear that you had to go through with this.
