We don't have sick or vacation time, it is all "Paid Time Off" aka PTO. After 8 years I get 200 hours(25 days) of PTO plus 80 hours (10 days of paid holiday). I gain 40 more hours in 2 years.
All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dream with open eyes, to make it possible

      vacation
      2-4 years 10 days
      5-9 years 15 days
      10-24 years 20 days
      25 or more 25 days

Personal/sick time - not specified - take what you really need; however, if beyond 8 days company may choose not to pay. Does not look good in your annual review however if you consistangly use all 8. The exception being employees with young kids where both parents work out of the home and one needs to stay home with a sick child.

27 vacation days, 12 sick leave continually building on prior years, 12 holidays. Able to carry up to 2 years vacation overages go into sick bank, can carry more w/ special dispensation from agency head.
It's got to be us, because there are a lot more of them!

4 weeks after 10 years (this year) and 1 'diversity' day. no sick time but we have a bucket to bill sick time to at manager's discression.

They do give an extra 2 weeks for paternity leave, death in immeadiate family, parents, sidblings, in-law parents, and grandparents.

I get 4 weeks vacation, 12 sick days and 4 personal days a year. I have over 120days of sick time on the books.

Hmmm, better not tell the lawyers that you're taking marital/family status into account when determining what's acceptable employee performance. Does your company by chance pay men more than women since "they should be the primary bread winners"?

In the past, I've been tempted to offer some people more if they would stay at home more often!

Sick days, pretty much take them as you need them, but remember the work you leave for others...
Pretty much the same with personal days.
Seems when I take off, (censored) hits the fan. Don't want to get into it here.

Everyone pretty much figures I either own a chunk, or am related to the owners, or will own the company one day. One of three full time employees (the other two being the owners). I took a week off about fifteen years ago, to work on the new house. Maybe taken 7 days in the rest of the time (not counting a few for weddings/funerals).

Haven't taken a vacation, where I go somewhere since either 81 or 83 (some argument about what year we went). I was always kind of raised, when your at work your put your nose to the grindstone. Trying to work around others schedules never seems to work. Last year my boss tried to get me to go blow an issurance check (was rear ended) and take a trip, but I had to do it the next week (only time I could fit in the schedule), I passed.
She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice.

Old job I left 6 weeks ago (after 15 years)

Max vacation of 4 weeks per year (able to save up to 12 weeks, cash out when leaving) I used 1 week before I left and cashed out 4 weeks.
5 personal days - unused would convert to sick days - no cash out
10 sick days ( upon retirement only)1 for 5 cashout No max on carryover
15 holiday ( which includes Thur/Fri Thanksgiving, and usually 6 week days between Dec. 24 thru Jan 2)

                      New job
22 days vacation per year (earn about 1.75 days per month)
10 holidays including Thanks. and Christmas and New Years
15 sick days (carried over 55 days from old job to new job - both are state based jobs) no max on carryover 1 for 5 conversion at retirement.

Switching jobs after so many was scary, but has been very healthy for me.

                          Lucky

I always thought I was lucky. When I worked offshore I worked 14 days on and 14 days off. After 20 years with the company I got 210 hours per year vacation. That meant that I could take a six week vacation each year on top of the 14 and 14 schedule (14 days off shift, 14 days vacation, 14 days off shift).

The work was hard and I didn't like being away from home two weeks at a time, but the rewards were great.

I'm retired now. Still living lucky.

I'm allowed as much as the Mrs gets. This year after 10 years with Intel she went from 3 weeks/year to 4. Every 7th year she gets an eight week sabatical in addition to the vacation. The sabatical must be used as a 8 week single period. Since this is her 11th year we are starting to think of the second sabatical. Sick days are as needed. Also she can work from home when appropriate. As long as our company paid high speed internet connection is up and stable and she doesn't have face to face meetings scheduled. Her hours are a bit flexible which is both an asset and often a liability. She is a workaholic so they get a great deal from her anyway.
                            Opinions are like gas;
I don't mind hearing it, but keep it to yourself if it stinks.

Being retired I never get a day off.

As a 30 year Firefighter I got 6 tours off (4 days each) plus the 4 days off before and after. So taken one at a time they were actually 12 days. Two at a time was 20 days and so on. We accumulated sick days at one every 3 months. Unused sick time was accumulated for the entire career. But had no monetary value on retirement.

I get 0 paid vacation days per year. My boss is a pr*** and I am often forced to work while still in my PJ's. I have to pay all my own unemployment taxes and I have no healthcare, I have to use my wifes healthcare.

Oh yeah, thats right, I'm self-employed.
