They needed that one in Japan when Godzilla attacked! But, seriously, I feel for the folks in the area.

Not too sure I'd want to be standing that close to it.

            I agree that's a deep sinkhole.
But from the pictures I sure don't see where 12 homes were that caved in...
either that's a fabrication or misinformation or the hole got bigger after the pictures.

Those tin-roofed shanties next to the hole are probably 10'x10' for each "home". I could easily see 12 of those falling in since the remaining ones are right next to the hole.

Well Mr. Internet Fact Checker, what does the internet say about it? Inquiring minds want to know.

Well, it's a real story, but I don't know if you'll find much on their definition of a "home". I'm sure it's not a 4,000 square foot 2-story

Here's an AP article from CNN if you think that's more reputable.

I'm with Kristofor on this. You have to remember that we are not talking about homes like here in the US (and other countries) were people live in a 1200 SqFt. house or larger, with at least 20 ft to our nearest neighbor.

Hehe I have 40 feet to my nearest and it's still too close. I have 3 lots. Anyway back to the main subject. That is one (*&%^ big hole. Must have taken years of underground erotion to get it that large.
