You may think I am crazy (my wife says that all the time) but I used to understand those things and sometimes I miss doing all those calculations.

I often have to read technical papers written by academics who feel compelled to use a lot of math. I used to skip the pages of equations but as I've gotten older, I've been feeling more and more guilty about being so lazy.

It takes a while but eventually I get to the state at the bottom of Loring's picture.
