    Easy one. 2/5 = 40% = 0.40

My math's pretty good but I still can't cut straight on a table saw!

      2/5=.40=40%

To get that you divide 5 into 2. You can't stuff all of 5 into 2. Some percentage of 5 goes into 2. So add a decimal point to 2 and a 0 after the decimal. This is the 'tenths' spot. Now just do long division. 5 does go into 20, 4 times. Put the 4 above your long division line. Is there a remainder? No. So now remember your decimal point? Drop that in front of the 4 and you have .4 (or .40) and that = 40%.

      For the rest of them, .60 = 3/5 or 60%. 7/12=~.58
