Someone told me not to marry a woman you can live with. Marry a woman you can't live without. If that's her, take the plunge. BTW, welcome aboard.

There was a guy who was married something like 11 times. He was asked what he liked about getting married so much. He said it wasn't the getting married he liked so much but getting divorced.

He then was asked what could he possibly like about getting divorced. He said "You never really know a woman until you meet her in court!"

Although everyting is air conditioned, Vegas in summer is like being in a furnace. It's hot at night and hotter during the day. The only time I ever went there for pleasure was in February. All of the other twenty odd times were on business.

Can't you talk your honey into an early spring or late fall wedding instead?

July is brutal, but as mentioned you will be inside a lot. Rio is pretty sweet. I used to be a "high roller" a few years ago before I started playing poker. We stayed at Rio for a week. Had the wedding at Rio in their wedding suite. They have 4 of them. If they like you they will limo you downtown to get your license as well. Oh, ya Vegas courthouse is GREAT! LOL! You will see some interesting things there. Cool thing is you go to the courthouse and they have a entrance for wedding license right there, ie don't have to go into the main courthouse.
How big is your wedding party? We were solo so we got the smallest room which was still like a 100 person room, so it was quite funny with just the 3 of us!

Seriously. The first time I went to Vegas was from very nice San Diego to
Vegas on July 4th weekend. I have never in my life experienced heat like
that. We were there again during September and it was much better.

If you do do a July wedding, don't skimp on the hotel. The off-strip hotels
are cheesier and they definitely don't give you as much AC as the more
                expensive places.

but after reading the replies, I think you're on to something here .... sounds to me like the fishing in Canada would be a LOT better than the wedding in Vegas!!!!

I went to a wedding last August at the Luxor. I wasn't terribly impressed by the hotel, but the wedding was pretty nice though a bit canned.

I think the advantage of a wedding in Vegas is that you don't have to plan. I'm sure you can do a very unique and classy wedding there, but if you're looking for a Vegas wedding, just go visit all the big hotel websites and look for wedding information on their website. For example, here is The Luxor's wedding page, complete with prices. They'll do everything including the minister, catering, and photographs. I think the bride of the wedding i went to did the entire thing by phone.

After months of planning, visiting dozens of venues, caterers, cake decorators, florists, photographers, etc., getting a package and having someone do everything for you except for picking chicken or beef sounds like a good idea.

                        Good luck!
                        Eric

I got married in Vegas at the Flamingo Hilton, they took care of all the details, it was great. Both our families loved it. Face it if your guests can not find something to do in Vegas they are in bad shape.

                            TJ,

Note well the warnings on the heat. 110 F. is not unusual. Any step outdoors in a tux or a gown and you and the flowers will wilt. You can't touch the steering wheel of any car left outside.

Most hotels have packages that will allow you to stay at one location. Some are very pricey, though.

Las Vegas is famous for the number of wedding chapels they have. You can be married by an Elvis impersonator, a space alien. . . . I'm not sure I get it, but, they are popular.

Don't let these guys get you down, most of them have been married for decades to lovely women that put up with their expensive hobbies.

As has been mentioned, the hotels on "The Strip" are nicer than downtown or elsewhere. The Rio, which is not on the strip, is nice. Also the Palmk, not on the strip, will cure you of your need to get married - it's a real talent show!

For my money, the nices place on the Strip is the Bellagio. Beautifully designed, bright interior and not too much of the flashing lights and cigarette smoke.

The next tier of niceness is probably Ceasar's Palace, New York New York, and Paris (whatever it's called). These places all have nice restaurants and are well run. Oh, Wynn's new place (is it called Wynn?). I haven't been there yet, but it's supposed to VERY nice.

Do not stay at anyplace advertised as being downtown or near downtown. I love to gamble there, but wouldn't take my wife there.
