On my notebook: 1440 x 900 most of the time but change for projections, videos and games.
On my 11 year old 400 mhz desk top, twin 1024 x 768 monitors, but use that only on occasion now. It still does huge Photoshop files well.
I started using multiple screens in 1996 on the DT mentioned above and never looked back, until notebooks started getting enough power to do basic video editing and huge photoshop files. I still hook up a second screen to the notebook occasionally when I do those things over a few consecutive days.
The 1440 allows me to view two pages side by side on my notebook, which helps take away about 75% of my current need for dual monitors.
Having the bad eye sight gives me no option but to use "640 X 480". And even that is hard to read. I then click on the view button in the tool bar and increase the size even more.
That helps a lot but in order to read most posts I have to scroll back and forth and that's irritating.
But what's a man to do that is visually dysfunctional.

Ditto. I used to have (4) 1600 x 1200 (20.1" Dells) but since online poker has pretty much been killed I took one and put it on my wifes computer. She has 1600 x 1200 and something funky I can't remember right now (widescreen 19" generic type LCD monitor).
