Yep, got a check today for $51 for scrap wood.
My office needed something to keep name tags from getting jumbled on a table. They were looking for a magnetic board that the metal clasp would stick to. At $100+ then needing a way to hold it up it just didn't make sense.
I offered to make something that would do the job. so when I got home that evening I went in the shop and dug out some scraps that were about 3/4x2x18 and cut slots in them at an angle. Made 10 of them out of 5 different woods.
So they now have a way to prop up name tags in mutliples of 9 and the things look nice to boot.
They asked me for an invoice and bingo. $51 Not bad for less than an hour work and scrap wood.
Now they've asked me to do another project out of Maple ply. 1 sheet is $42 (and I'll have leftover) and I'm going to charge them $150 for the project.
