    Best Christmas presents yet!

... since I started woodworking last year, that is.

From LOML -- 4 JET clamps, a branding iron with date attachment, and...

    Ta Da ...

from Timeless Timbers in Wisconsin, a gorgeous piece of Birdseye Maple, and two of Spalted Birch with astounding figure! This is the old world wood they recover from the bottom of Lake Superior!

I didn't know she even knew there was such a thing!

Wow, I might ruin this thread with this year's haul. So far, from LOML

      1. Powermatic PM2000
      2. Performax 16-32 drum sander
      3. Porter Cable 892 router
      4. Triton lumber rack

She decided this year, since I worked hard and paid off our debts, that it was time to finish setting up shop. :-)

Chris, you'll LOVE the D4R, great jig.

      Merry Christmas all!

        Craftsman 14" BS
        3 BS blades
        Rikon 12/16" lathe
        3pc pinnacle chisels
(all the pen making stuff, glue, finish, mandrel, blanks, pen kits etc)
Marine Corps metal sign, Remington metal sign
        and a few other things.

made two pens already. Had one blow out because the wood got too thin because the hole was centered. Having a rough time keeping the tubes in the wood. When I clean em out id say at least one out of three sticks to the bit.

Well this was a very good year for me with my Christmas presents. My wife and son went in together and bought me the Lie Nielsen 5 piece chisel set, small Lie Nielsen dovetail saw and the Veritas Bullnose plane. I had started to wonder if they had wanted me to start hand cutting some dovetails but really my wife has noticed me looking at the chisels and saw every time we went to Woodcraft.

At the price of them though, I don’t think I would have ever bought them on my own but I sure will keep them as a gift! They are very nice and all I had to do to sharpen them was just a bit of power stropping.

          Ken, defiantly happy!

Hmmm, sounds like she put you back in debt to keep you working hard.
            Congratulations!

Santa didn't know what to get me, so he gave me a day to go shopping. Not sure I can trust myself on that, though.

I've read my copy probably a half dozen times in the last year. Great book--it really helped me decide what features I wanted on my bench.

I got a Ridgid tilting outfeed table from LOML.
My Father-In-Law got me cuff links.
I don't have any French cuff shirts, probably not allowed to wear them at work anyway.

Now this isn't a wood working present but for me its a great present. I am an avid bowler and use two bowling balls. So when we got to tournaments I have a old bowling bag that you have to sling over your should and since I use 14.5 pound balls its pretty heavy on the shoulder, and the zipper is not attached anymore.

Well my grandmother got me a new bowling bag. you can either carry it or pull out the handle and "WHEEL" it like most of the new luggage. It is going to make going to tournaments a heck of a lot easier.

And since my birthday is about two weeks away its also a birthday gift.

Well, I was really surprised this year. I keep an Amazon wish list of things I'm looking at and debating for future purchase. My girlfriend used this to purchase things for me and advise purchases for others. So her mom got me the Skil 5-1/2" circular saw. This little guy is much quieter than I thought and the blade looks decent, with a narrow kerf. Hopefully it makes breaking down sheet goods more enjoyable.

My GF went a little overboard and got me the Lumber Wizard III Metal Detector, Porter-Cable 42234 Corner Chisel, Five Hundred and Seven Mechanical Movements Book, Sam Maloof book, plus some other non-woodworking things like a nice Granite Mortar and Pestle and the HDHomerun device.

I'm having fun reading throught the 507 movements book. It was first published in the late 1800's. It is basically 507 drawings with simple descriptions about them. But it helps get the mind thinking about various ways to put together gears and belts and wheels, etc. Not for all people, but I'm getting a kick out of it.

Much more than I expected. I also have multiple gift cards to Sears, Kmart, and Lowes. The Lowes are the biggest. Unfortunately, these were given with the express reason of purchasing paint for the inside of the house. Tell me, what is wrong with flat white paint? When you patch something, you can match the color exactly. When my GF says that she wants to paint the inside of the house some nice colors, what that translates to is that she wants ME to paint the inside of the house some nice colors. Unfortunately, she has found an ally with her brother's girlfriend. She was the main culprit in the gift for paint only. Well I found a few drywall cracks that need fixed before painting. That may have bought me a little time...
