    A Sucker Born Every Minute

Someone will probably pay what he wants for this:

    http://raleigh.craigslist.org/tls/246991559.html

It is new at the BORG for 299.00. And you can get it cheaper with moving coupon or the like.

Capitolism at work. We have a poster here and elsewhere, who I see posting for sale ads, from stuff he aquired due to the bargin alerts. He sells them about a month later with his markup.
She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice.

reminds me of the Jack in the box ad. Jack is cruising a fast food trade show and there's an empty booth save for a college-student-looking guy in a folding chair and a hand-made sign that says "taste test your product - $25,000"
            Jack asks, "Get many takers?"
to which the guy replies, "Only takes one."

Well he should get a return for taking the risk that he can resell what he buys and for doing the work to find the deals in the first place, esp if he is reselling at less (or equal to regular price). Someone else will pay a slight premium for not having to go to the store. Isn't that what shipping on mail order is for? I don't have an objection to it. What bothers me more about the craigslist ad is the misrepresentation of it being 700.00 new.

There is someone on Ebay selling HF DCs. They have them listed as starting bid $249.57 or Buy It Now at $287.97 They even brag how it ships directly from the manufacture.

You order from them, they go on line and order one and have to shipped to you. No overheard, quick and easy work.

It might be MSRP for each item sold separately. Many of the big box stores, amazon, heck even the manufactures will say something like "$$$$ if purchased separately" when they are selling a kit.

I don't think so. I did a quick check on the HD website and buying a la carte I could build a similar kit for a lot less than 700.00, with a better compressor. Besides, this kit is on sale over there for 279.00 right now...

Value and price competitive is relative, depending on your shopping. Not everyone learns how to shop around, and there are still people who in this day and age, are both computer illiterate, and uncomfortable witth the internet.
Then again, not even the internet is always the best deal. Someone temporarily moved in the house next door, she was outside, b&m about how high trash service was. She went looking online for local trash service (I had to chuckle), the company wanted an upfront $50, then what the local company gets a month. All she had to do was look in the phone book.
She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice.

OK, off topic question, is there a way to search several craigslists? Or do I have to go each one separate to see that tools they got?
