    Favor to ask.

I just recovered as much as possible from a bad virus on my computer. It happened as Thunderbird had just completed an upgrade. The very next email into my box was a W32.Netsky variant. Symantec AV already had one variant of this in quarantine, but evidently wasn't able to catch this one in time to prevent initial destruction of my C partition.
It filled up this drive with junk almost instantly. Didn't effect my other partition or my other HD. I was able to recover all my data with the exception of about the last years worth of emails and addresses book entries. My newer backups were somehow corrupted or something and would not load.
I now have a dedicated exterior HD with dedicated backup software.
    Now the favor.
If you have had any business or correspondence with me in maybe the past year, could you forward our last email? I would like to repopulate my emails and address books. This goes especially for those helping me on other models or awaiting a reply or have current orders.
I would reply to get the address in my book as well as confirm the receipt. I certainly want to thank you in advance.

It wasn't an email from me that triggered the virus was it? I worry about being infected and passing it along without knowing I have it. Bill

Nope. Wasn't you, Bill. It was some mailer Daemon reply from some email that I never really sent. Some average everyday email name. Baby clothes or something. Personally I think it was full of crap already. Should have been used baby clothes.

For anyone who is worried about having it, or you think your antivirus may be compromised, I would recommend googling "online antivirus". Slow on dial up, but can be a usefull tool (sorry I don't remember the site).

I think the online AV you may be taking about is Trend Micro. It is at housecall.antivirus.com
